Let me make sure I understand. The metadata loss you are talking about has to do with the home screen widget correct?
Our plans are to have a new lighter skin sometime November 2011. We already have the design just about ready we are now working details and functionality...
Could you provide the URL to the station you are having issues with? I would like to take a look.
A request timeout occurs when a connection request has taken more than the predetermined timeout value to hear back from the server/radio station/broadcaster.
Why does this occur?
1. Your internet connection could possibly be very slow at the moment of the request.
2. There is no access to the internet.
3. The server/radio station/broadcaster was too busy or overworked and took too long to respond to a request.
4. Usually there is a lot of latency on wireless networks and that could also cause a request timeout.
5. The server/radio station/broadcaster could be located very far thus a request take a lot longer than expected.
Unfortunately the emailed backup file is corrupted. I tried everything I could to repair the backup but I was not able to... Because of this issue I'm already thinking of a better backup mechanism that should always be easy to resolve any backup corruptions.

Could you send me an email with your backup if you don't mind? I would like to see if I can import it and if not I can try to discover why it doesn't. If you do email the file send it to support@xiialive.com
Thanks!
Indeed XiiaLive had the priority set as Integer.MAX_VALUE. We have changed this value to be a lot lower and will be part of the next release of XiiaLive v2.2.4.
Please provide the link to the station so that we can take a look. I'm guessing you are possibly using an invalid URL?
There are a couple reasons this could be happening.
1. The connection from your phone to the station is very slow or has a lot of latency.
2. Phone/app issue.
To overrule the issue with connection problems please take a look while streaming at the app widgets. These widgets provide insight to the connection speed between the phone and the station. If you have the paid version you can take a look at the stats widget which gives a lot more information about the stream or take a look at the other widgets which provides 5 little dashes. These dashes represent how good the connection is. 4-5 dashes is usually fine but less than 4 you will run into buffering issues.
What phone do you have and what version of android is it running? Does this issue happen with a particular station or all stations? Have you tried AAC stations and MPEG stations?
Please go to http://vtuner.com/setupapp/guide/asp/BrowseStations/Searchform.asp than try finding your station there. Once you do hit play and it will request to open with XiiaLive. Once it plays make sure to add it to your favorites so you can than easily play it back whenever.

I'll take a look to see if I can figure out to reproduce the issue...
